Protected Page

Due to porn spam I have protected this page for the time being. This means that only people with Sysop privileges can edit this page. The next MediaWiki release (1.5) will contain sophisticated access control, so lets wait and see what happens regarding spam and vandalism before we decide which pages get what kind of protection since the Main_Page is the most vulnerable.

quite boring spam :)
at the moment we are on google ranking #3, searching for cocoa +wiki (#80 searching for cocoa only), directly after two references to aw wiki
about MacOsX cocoa (this explains the first spam problem, I'd suggest).
protecting the main page is fine with me. Up to know everybody who did some work is able to change it, or knows how to contact
somebody to make changes.

  • Added a personalized MediaWiki logo.
  • Removed the "index.php" from the URL structure, links are directly to /wiki/...

Server Time

could somebody please adjust the server time??? it's confusing... thx...

dheldt 10:21, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)

@Daniel: What exctly do you mean regarding the server time?
Mabshoff 10:25, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)
You can adjust the server time in your user preferences.
--Karsten 12:35, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)
That's what I did for my profile. Set offset to 02:00
The server clock is set to GMT, with the appropriate time zone to CET (summertime)
For some reason the php time function seems to ignore the time zone and uses GMT.
This has also been an issue with the Forum, so just change your offset Daniel.

Links to other computer algebra systems

Should we add here links to singular, reduce etc.pp, too? I think it would be nice... although it is competitor's software...

dheldt 10:01, 28 Jun 2005 (CEST)

We might just give a link to the computer-algebra page in the Wikipedia, so we don't give any preferntial treatment to any other computer algebra system.
